Lance Sweeney

President

Lance Sweeney, a professional member of the American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC) and Texas Licensed Irrigator, founded the firm in 1990.  His 43 years in the landscape industry has included design, installation and maintenance.  Lance is a strong proponent of water conservation and has been a certified water auditor since 1991.  His experience includes the design and coordination of substantial projects throughout the world including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and China.

Lance’s key responsibilities within the organization include coordination and design of large-scale irrigation systems, detailed water use estimates, master planning, written specifications, submittal reviews, as well as construction observations.  Lance is president of the firm and oversees the business development and sales for the company.  He is often requested as a speaker at landscape related seminars on topics of hydrozoning, alternative water sources and efficient irrigation design.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Daniel ZumMallen

Vice President

Daniel ZumMallen, vice president of the firm, has over 30 years’ experience in landscape construction, maintenance, and design.  Educated as a landscape architect in the United States, he spent a year working and studying horticulture in Scotland.  Daniel designs and manages large-scale irrigation projects from inception to completion using the latest AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting software.  He has designed irrigation systems for large projects all over the world including the United States, the Caribbean, Taiwan, and the Middle East.  Over the last twenty, he has designed the irrigation systems for dozens of large sports parks projects in Southern California.

Daniel’s key responsibilities within the organization include coordination and design of irrigation systems, written specifications, submittal reviews, as well as construction observations.  He is the Principal in Charge of project scheduling and production for the firm.

Ted Kochanek

Principal

Ted Kochanek has been a member of the Sweeney & Associates team for over eighteen years.  Starting with the firm as an irrigation designer in the California office, his knowledge and attention to detail quickly advanced him to a project management role.  Ted relocated to the Texas office in 2012 where he is the managing principal.  Ted designs and coordinates substantial projects in the United States, South America and the Caribbean.  Ted is a professional member of the American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC), a Licensed Texas Irrigator, a LEED accredited Professional, and an EPA WaterSense Partner.

Ted’s key responsibilities include management of the Texas and Costa Rican offices, project management, design and coordination of projects, LEED coordination and construction site observations..

 
 
 
 
 

Corey Fox

Principal

Corey Fox, principal of the Orange County Sweeney & Associates office has over 14 years of experience in landscape construction and design.  He designs and manages both large-scale and residential irrigation projects from inception to completion using the latest AutoCAD drafting software. Corey has designed hundreds of irrigation systems for projects in the United States including California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Maryland and Florida along with international projects designed within Mexico and China.

Corey’s key responsibilities within the organization include coordination and design of irrigation systems, written specifications, submittal reviews, as well as construction observations.  He is principal in charge of scheduling and production for the entire team within the Orange County office.

Tristan Sweeney

Project Manager

Tristan Sweeney has been a member of the Sweeney & Associates team for over eight years.  Starting as an irrigation designer in the California office, his understanding of AutoCAD and irrigation design quickly lead him to a project management role with the firm.  In 2015 Tristan relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado and started the firm’s fourth US office.  Tristan works closely with Lance Sweeney and they collaborate on projects including large corporate campuses, resorts, large public parks and custom residential projects all over the world.

Tristan’s key responsibilities include management of the Colorado office, project management, and the design and coordination of irrigation projects.
